In many parts of the world, limited access to pure drinking water and air pollution are serious humanitarian issues. Seeing this growing demand, Gryfskand started production of activated carbon in 1996. Activated carbon is a product with huge absorption capacity and is mainly used for drinking and waste water purification, flue gas cleaning to reduce industrial air pollution, and pharmaceutical products. Today Gryfskand's products are used to purify drinking water in many of Europe's major cities.
